The Significance of 10:27

In Honor of my birthday – October 27, I am sharing my thoughts on a few of my New Testament Scriptures.

Matthew 10:27 (amp)

27  What I say to you in the dark (privately), tell in the light (publicly); and what you

hear whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops [to many people].

This scripture is significant. I have found that when I have quieted my thoughts

and clear my mind, - The voice of the Lord is clear- let me rephrase that- I can

hear Him clearly.

That is, in “secret” in Private in confidence, The verse speaks to the private

instructions which I give you while with me. The disciples were privileged to walk

and talk with Jesus daily. I’m sure those moments were exciting and memorable.

I am also sure there were things He spoke to them that were – “mind blowing”!!!

My takeaway for this verse – God is always speaking-it takes quietness, calmness &

intentional listening to hear His voice.

Mark 10:27 (msg)

27  Jesus was blunt: “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every

chance in the world if you let God do it.”

Mark 10:27 (kjv)

27  And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God:

for with God all things are possible.

Jesus is reminding the disciples and His followers/leaders that what they perceive

as impossible Is possible. I love the bluntness of the MSG version… We can’t do it

by ourselves – we always need God’s help.

I was listening to a story about our oldest living President – Jimmy Carter. He is 95

years young and still serving. He is a Believer! He still teaches Sunday School, and

helps build houses for Habitat for Humanity. He recently fell and hit his head – but

he would not let that “minor injury” keep him from serving, with the Habitat team

in Nashville. At age 95 - He is living proof that all things are possible.

Luke 10:27  (AMP)

27 And he replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with

all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor

as yourself.

How Big is YOUR Love for GOD??? Do you love Him with all of your being?

The next part says “and Your neighbor as thyself” This part is often quoted but

really overlooked. Jesus is telling us to put things in order – Love God –

Love Our neighbor (our fellowman) as much as we love ourselves.

My question is: How much Do you Love You? Does your Love for yourself show

up in your daily routine? Do you put yourself last? Self-Love and Self-Care are

very important. You can’t help anyone if you are exhausted, sick, and tired

(physically and emotionally). Think About It.

John 10:27

John 10:27 Amplified Bible (AMP)

27  The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them,

and they follow Me.

This verse brings us back to the beginning. I love that we can end this with this

verse. Hearing and understanding God, His voice and His word is key to our

success in life. I know this is a recurring theme in my life.

The other part “ and listen to ME” We can hear and not Listen. We can be told

something over and over – but never heed the message, the voice, or the message.

God is always speaking ---- Are you Listening?

I pray you have enjoyed this month’s Blog. My prayer is that you are encouraged

and enlightened from the words I write. Please send me your feedback
