The Vision Board

My first vision board was very simple. It contained four words:

Purpose I created this Vision Board over 10 Years Ago.

The first time I saw these four Words grouped together was in a dream.

I kept seeing these Words in the dream and it was so vivid & real. I woke

up the next morning, I went straight to my laptop & created the picture

below. I printed it out and framed it.

As you can see, it’s a Picture. I’ve carried this picture with me from

place to place – when I travelled for my company & I made sure I brought

it with me – included in the box marked “carry in car” when I relocated to

Texas from Alabama.

It’s on my bedroom windowsill. I look at it every day when I wake

Up and when I go to bed. I see it daily –as it is a visual reminder of what

my purpose, my vision, my focus, & my destiny is. It’s also a reminder to

remember to focus on my purpose.

Let’s talk about what each word means.

Vision -the faculty or state of being able to see. The ability to think about or plan the

future with imagination or wisdom.

“Where there is no vision – The People Perish…Proverbs 29:18

Realizing what your personal vision is for your life is key.

“Vision is the Art of Seeing what is invisible to others.”

One of my mentors would say – “Julia, you have to see it before you see it.”

Many times, we can go through life not realizing that

vision even matters, I’m not talking about eyesight (which is important)

but vision is more like insight. Vision is your insight to what will happen

in the future. Vision is your roadmap that contains the steps to your

future. Vision is something that we see, but we have not obtained;

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes

The time. Vision with Action can change the World.” Joel A Barker

The next word that you see on my list is focus. You cannot see clearly

in the natural or in the spiritual unless you have focus;

your eyes have to focus in order to see. Your spiritual eyes have the

focus in order to see. It is so important that we remain focused,

there’s a great definition of focus which says:

Focus --“The point at which an object must be situated with respect to a lens or

Mirror for an image to be well defined.”

We, (You & I) must remain focused on your vision in order for it

to happen. I love the word the focus because when

you’re focused there’s nothing that can stop you from achieving

your purpose and your destiny.

Destiny is our next word.

Destiny – the hidden power believed to control what will happen in the

Future; Fate,

Destiny –(Julia’s definition) means something in the future that will occur

that you are Predisposed, pre-designed, pre-selected to happen to you

in your lifetime.

I believe everyone has a destiny, whether they want to receive the destiny

or not, each person has a destiny. Many times Destiny finds you

before you find Destiny; however, there are also times when

your destiny is standing right in front of you and you can’t even see it….

We all have Blindspot’s concerning many parts of our life.

Destiny is something that is a big !!!

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the Plans I have your You, declares the Lord

Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a

The best thing about DESTINY - is we have so much in us that

has never been even tapped into, and it takes serious consideration about

your destiny. People can speak a word over you about your destiny, but

however, until you realize what you’re your own destiny is--- you will

not receive it or walk into it. I can speak over my children and

I can decree and declare over their lives and their destiny but

they have to walk in it. Why ??? We all have free will

and we all have free choice. Think About It…..

And the last word of our quartet is purpose.

Purpose – the reason for which something is done or created or

for which something exists. The best thing I can say about purpose is, again I don’t mean

to be redundant, but everyone has a purpose.

You (we) may not realize what your purpose is.

You may spend a lifetime trying to find your purpose.

Someone once told me “Your Purpose will find you!

It took me a long time to figure out – if you can work in your passion

You will be closer to finding out what your purpose is. I know many

People in my generation who sought careers to make money.

Not because they were passionate about their “career path” -but

Because they could make a “good salary.”

I have realized that working just to make money is not equal to working in your

“It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for

Something!” – Winston Churchill

The best thing I can say to you as I close this blog is to remember

each of us has a vision-- take time today and focus on your vision

so that you can find out what your destiny is

and as you continue living in your destiny your purpose will be revealed.

Thank you for reading this Month’s blog and sharing it on your Social

Media Platforms (Sharing is Caring 😊)

I want to dedicate this blog to my Big brother Louis Edwin Terry,

He passed away on November 6th, 2019.

Louis lived a long full life. I thank God for his life and he was a

man that had much purpose and destiny and he fulfilled

a great portion of it before he left this earth realm to be with the Lord.

I am so grateful for the life he lived.
